Shipping, Taxes & Duties

Shipping:

All orders are sent as Air Mail Small Parcels by Hong Kong Post:

We send orders by Hong Kong Post, which delivers them world-wide through other national postal systems. All orders are sent with Tracking, which gives  proof of shipment and proof of delivery

Delivery times:

Most items are kept on hand or can be accessed the same day our Distribution Center receives the order. This is normally the first working day after you place the order. Virtually all items are on their way by the second business day after ordering.

Actual delivery by Hong Kong Post will take a week or longer. Sometimes less, but we would rather surprise you with early delivery than incur your wrath over missing the timetable. We do this to keep your costs low. A bit longer delivery cycle, a lot better cost.

Allow up to two weeks for delivery. 10 to 12 days should be plenty, but it is possible the local customs office may take a day or two to clear the package.

Please do not start inquiring about shipments prior to 2 weeks from date of order. We are able to offer our products at such a low price because of the shipping method we use. A bit slower, much less costly.

Not all postal services acknowledge International Registered Mail. In such cases the Delivery Confirmation tracking will only tell you that the package was turned over to the local postal service, which will not furnish proof of delivery. Neither we, nor Hong Kong Post have any control over this. Shipping to those countries is entirely at your own risk. A list of countries we know WILL honor the International Registered Mail process is at the end of this page.

Orders are accepted and filled with the understanding that title to the goods is passed to you upon us turning the shipment over to the carrier. We accept no liability regarding products not arriving at their final destination for any reason other than our failure to turn them over to the proper carrier.

VAT, GST, Duties and Customs Fees:

Please note that you are responsible for finding out in advance about the legality of importing your ordered items in your country - and about the legalities of importing goods into your country per se. We are not responsible for confiscated items by your local authorities or any associated costs incurred.

Our prices do not include any taxes or other fees that may be levied by the country of delivery.

None of our customers has ever been charged any taxes or other fees, we only state this for your information

Local Delivery Fees:

Here, also, we can make no guarantees. Many postal systems will add a fee for collecting fees. While they will make a delivery at no extra charge when the imported item is free of any taxes or other fees, the postal service will add a fee of their own for collecting the other fees.

Passing shipments to a third party:

In areas where the local country postal service turns deliveries over to others, we cannot guarantee delivery.

Taxes and Duties:  a not legally binding quick overview

Please understand we just put this here for quick reference. It is to your advantage to know the import laws of your country.

United States:

Most personal shipments worth up to $200, and gift packages worth up to $100, will pass duty‑free as long as the recipient does not receive multiple packages in a single day whose cumulative value is more than these amounts.

Larger orders are subject to fees.

A fee will also be charged by the US Postal Service of collection of any Customs fees.

United Kingdom:

VAT of 17.5% is due on all imports, but items valued at less than £18 are allowed in VAT free.

Gifts with a value of £38 or less are allowed in VAT free.

We assume that all of our orders will be gifts, as they make such good presents.
Duties may be levied, depending on the class of goods, but no duties will be collected if the total due is less than £7.

The above apply to any one single shipment, not each item. Larger value orders are subject to both VAT and possibly duty.

Royal Mail will charge a fee for collection of any of the above fees and taxes.

Canada:

All mail items are subject to a CDN$5.00 handling fee payable to Canada Post.

Most products that are sent to a Canadian and worth CDN$20 or less are not subject to duties or taxes.

Items sent to a Canadian as a gift by another person must include a card or notice indicating it is a gift. Clearly identified gifts worth CDN$60 or less are not subject to duties or taxes.
